Default Tourism Growth Hit

Thailand expects only slight growth in tourism this year, with 14.5 million foreign visitors compared to 14.46 million in 2007. The slow growth are mainly due to high oil prices and the current political uncertainty.

Thailand can still do something about it. First they should solve their political problems and the next thing to do is to offer cheaper or at least competitive tourist package for them to achieve their target income.

Price rise of oil is surely hitting every front all over the world, but do you see less no. of cars on the road, people are still buying big cars, having lesser milage, fights are still jam packed. The prices may soar even more, but people will not stop traveling.

Here in our place a lot of people have already tightened their belts and only a few traveled abroad for vacation. Even gasoline stations felt the effect of high fuel prices and slightly lowered the prices just to avoid further drop in sales.
